I must be broken, because right now I really want a Neon SRT4 hatchback...wait um I mean PT Cruiser GT, no wait that’s worse.
I’m even starting to like the way they look. As long as they are lowered, without too much retro crap.
You know what, grow on the retro crap.i think this one was actually done up by Chrysler if I remember right.
Also this PT UTE...ish thing. With oddly what looks like the bottom half of a bumper from an HHR SS.

My dad had a PT Cruiser GT (03, first year) from new for 13 years. He loved it. It was pretty quick, sounded great, and was comfortable. He went through two transmissions (Chrysler’s gonna Chrysler) and when the 2nd was going out he bought a new Kia Picante.
Horrendous gas mileage though - 15 mpg pussyfooting around, 12 normal

An SRTish powered L body swap is on my hit list. Long live the PT-GT!

The pt looks pretty decent lowered, I like it. I wanted to raise my pt like a half inch, and add a brush guard and off-road lights. Probably won’t do that we can resell it easily later on.
I haven’t driven the pt gt, but on paper it’s fast. In a straight line, it should beat my base trim Pontiac Grand Prix. Heck, even DeMuro said he like the gt. I think it’s like 230 hp and 245 lb-ft of torque. And well... that’s impressive to me.
That specific ute pt has a viper engine and transmission in it. That bumper is definitely aftermarket, but it looks eerily similar to the bumper after the ‘06 facelift.

I loved my PT it was my DD for seven years and my first new car. That being said ... I would not buy a another one without service history.

And that is the biggest down side of the the PT the way it’s gets modified.
